Who Am I?

  • I’m Nicole, I have a background in psychology and human-computer interaction. I have experiences in developing design systems and in communications, and at the heart of it all love the process of designing well thought out experiences.

Hello reader, I’m Nicole.

I’ve been based in London for the past few years.

My first 3 years were at King’s College London where I attained my BSc. in Psychology. I then spent a year at University College London doing a MSc. in Human-Computer Interaction. I chose to stay in London for the multiple opportunities it brings me – whether those opportunities are for my enjoyment, or for my creative growth. Peep me at a London gig in that photo!

A large part of what I do revolves around design.

I’m well-versed in industry standard tools such as Figma and Adobe, and I have used them across UX projects or personal projects I involve myself. I’m also trained in ensuring that design, when engaged with, isn’t annoying to you. That’s the user experience, making sure that you experience technology and interfaces as it is intended. No hidden agendas, no confusing site navigations!

I’m experienced in visual, communicative, and UX design.

During my time in London, I’ve led design for an independent student newspaper where I developed a design system for it, worked together and mentored designers to produce beautiful tabloid-style spreads. These works have been shortlisted for best newspaper design by the Student Publication Association across the UK and Ireland!

I later worked for a pro-bono consultancy where I maintained and contributed to the design system used for their website, social media, and outreach documents. I also managed their website design and social media, transforming complex research into digestible info bites to over 10,000 audiences.

In my spare time, I love to make.

I love to create weird visual design pieces – or at least that’s what I’ve been told! Whether it’s making audiovisual pieces through TouchDesigner; VFX art through Adobe AfterEffects/Blender 3D; digital art through Apple Procreate; or data visualization pieces with Python – I enjoy dabbling in different digital tools that help me develop the art I want to create.
